I Love Earlsdon wonders what your thoughts are about the £650m Friargate (train station) redevelopment. Are you worried about additional parking/traffic problems in Earlsdon as a result of the development? Do you know enough about the plans?

Its a great development, but like most planned developments in Coventry it just takes so long to get started. I am worried about parking in Earlsdon as a result of the development though, already many people travelling from the train station park in earlsdon and this will only get worse. Maybe its time we started to look into parking meters with ... Read Moreresident permits, it works very well in other cities. I have always been amazed amazed at how easy it is to park in front of other peoples houses in earlsdon free of charge. Visitors at present dont have to pay for parking in Earlsdon at all and this needs to change.

Thoughts go out to Paul Gibbons, poor chap.

Was it just me or was Earlsdon street full of drunken teenagers last night, screaming and getting drunk etc. Some very young girls dressed like 20 somethings ran up to me begging for fags. Latterly there were tennagers poorly by the print shoop, others snogging like they were... at a school disco and others causing problems in the Onestop etc? Anyone know what this onset of underage party goers was all about?Read More

I met with the Police and discussed this issue last week. I am told that they are not intending to hold a similar event.

How does an incident, however tragic, which occurred inside Millsy's on Sunday night justify closing Earlsdon Street for most of Monday as well.

I totaly disagree, a little inconvenience in Earlsdon was very well justified, by the fact that a man was attacked and killed!

I worked in The Earlsdon Cottage in 1998-2000 and The City Arms 2000-2002. Earlsdon used to be alot safer and a fantastic environment. To me, Earlsdon is being slowly ruined by a small minority of anti-social Yobs (some of whom are grown adults). I did love being a bar-maid in Earlsdon but im glad I left and began a career as an A&E Staff Nurse. Now im helping people, instead of serving alcohol and then watching them stagger off and urinate up the shop windows and get into fights!

Earlsdon is being let down by this sort of behaviour and its only getting worse! It's such a shame! I miss Earlsdon, but I don't go there anymore because it's no longer the same.... Read More

I have joined this group, but I think it should be changed to "I loved the old Earlsdon".

I think that's really interesting Jennifer - how you've seen it from both sides, ie working in a bar and now working in A&E no doubt attending to some people who are there as a result of binges.
Would make an interesting article.
