In recognition of the support provided to Ford Ironman Arizona from the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community and the Town of Tempe, the Ironman Community Foundation has provided capital grants in the amount of $50,000 on the fifth anniversary of the race.
In a list of Tim Legge's significant lifetime accomplishments, qualifying for the Ford Ironman World Championship three times and competing at last Saturday's Foster Grant World Championship 70.3 rank a ways down the list.
Selina Humnycki Anyone else had this... where fitness and performance seem to take a leap forward? I just set 2 PB's in the 1/2 marathon just 6 wks apart, my bike sessions are now done about 6% faster (I'm forced indoors now by weather) and my swim times are also about 6% improved - and it happened all of a sudden - LOVE IT!

For Germany's Michael Raelert, the win here in Clearwater today was the culmination of a year's worth of training - but even he was surprised at how he pulled away from a group of men he considers the best in the sport.
Julie Dibens has dreamed about this win for years. "It's the race that gets me out of bed in the morning," she said, and today her 3:59:33 win made all those early mornings and hard training days completely worthwhile.
