Middle school is a time of growth and change for students, with each student changing and growing in different ways and at different rates. These students, like the rest of us, have different interests, different backgrounds, and different goals for their lives. ...

Many moodle modules can be used to incorporate DI: self-paced lessons, student glossary entries, and quizzes for review. You can create groups and easily post a webquest on moodle, too.

I use DI and technology with the use of rubrics and anchor lessons. Students can earn more point for doing more. Instead of listing 2 sources they list 5. For presentations they complete 5 sldes instead of 10. Also I allow for them to colllaberate and communicate via discussion boards and monitored e-mail accounts. Students are given choices and boundries to construct new meaning and understanding with in the framework I provide.

my name is Doug Valentine and I am an elementary librarian in Melissa, Texas. My teacher/ wife and I collaborated with her 3rd grade class to create a video about the use of technology in her classroom. We entered it into the eInstruction technology makeover contest and now we are in the final 5! We are now one step away from a $30,000 classroom ... See Moretech makeover. We need votes at this point. We are teachers in Melissa Texas which has a student population K-12 of only 1100 and we are competing against much larger districts around the country. My wife and I believe that we are representing the integration of technology into the classroom with this video and we ask for your vote and would like you to pass this on. To view and vote, go to the link, SIGN UP, go to the K-5 category and find WE USE TECHNOLOGY from MELISSA TEXAS. You can click the vote button on that page. Leave us a comment if you are so inclined. The video is a musical parody of "Walk like an Egyptian." Thanks for your support!

If just half this group votes for our video I think we'd win.
Thanks

Vasantha Rayman I was glad to do the technology integration in instruction at k-6 level in my base school, but now my position is up for budget cuts. Can ISTE support my colleagues and myself in our effort to educate the School Board to re-think their decision because if this cut goes through as planned, ensuring 21st century skills ...in a big No Va school system is going to be a joke, come next August

It's a tough transition, but I'm starting to enjoy e-books. They're so convenient to access and I love having the ability to choose what I want to read no matter where I am. I like the search feature. Knowing where I am in the book is a little difficult.

ISTE Technology accelerates something! What is the SOMETHING being targeted in your schools? Determining technology uses in classrooms has caught educators in a profound belief gap between supporting classroom practices as we have always known them or being used as a robust catalyst to accelerate new cultures of learning th...at will serve the highest interest of our students. The BIG question is not whether students are learning and using technology, rather are these resources organized to deliver high-yielding, worth-the-money and time results for all students? Join host Peggy Sheehy (SL: Maggie Marat) in this controversial discussion with Bernajean Porter (SL: Bernajena Pinazzo) where they will dive into these questions and give you the tools you need to shape goals, staff development, curriculum, and focus student achievement on increasing school-wide results.
