Arthur Grimfield Longfellow

Arthur Grimfield Longfellow HI, people! We're a film production team that originated in El Centro
and are filming here soon, so we figure we could get the word out this
way. Some of us even started IVC.

We're looking to shoot a 20-30 second spot showcasing a local clothing line.

We're seeking men 18 and up as subjects. As part of the ensemble, you...'d be doing a bit of running.

We will be filming the 8th and 9th of January. If interested, send me a message to this profile with your availability.

We hope to hear from you.

Cindy

Cindy I quit attending IVC after the first day of a class and an instructor was speaking only Spanish to the class-- which was not a Spanish language class. Also because the students from Mexicali received financial aid and other preferences, and those that lived, worked, and paid taxes in the U.S. could not qualify.
Has it changed any?

Doesn't sound like a very good reason to quit college. Why not just transfer to another class or talk to a counselor about your concerns? I am curious how you knew who was receiving financial aid since that is usually confidential information. I know several Americans who choose to live in Mexico because it is cheaper. I also knew residents of ... See MoreMexicali who worked in the US and paid all of the taxes paid by everyone who worked in the US - income tax, FICA, etc. The state law allows international students to attend community colleges if they pay tuition and of course, any legal resident of the district can attend a community college regardless of their citizenship.

This was years ago and I moved on and to another school. The basic point I attempted to make is that the instructor should not have conducted discussion or given class information exclusively in Spanish, and certainly not when pointedly asked, in English, for information on the class. And even though aid information is confidential, it is ... See Moredifficult to keep young people from discussing their benefits- especially if they are good ones! I understand international students can attend if they pay tuition; that's standard in most states, they just pay a non-resident rate. And it is a given that legal residents can attend- but then I'm assuming that being a legal resident has a precondition that one be a legal citizen of the United States. Forgive my bias, but this is my opinion, which, thank goodness we are still able to voice.
