In Defense of Animals is getting ready for Fur Free Friday . . .What are you doing to make the world a more compassionate place?
In Defense of Animals
On Friday, November 27, animal advocates around the world will be joining forces to educate shoppers about the real cost of purchasing fur garments this season. We are in urgent need of mobilizing more activists and events than ever before to finally end the exploitation of other species for their fur. These fur-bearin...g animals desperately need your help! Members of In Defense of Animals as well as the International Anti-Fur Coalition, of which IDA is a proud affiliate, will be submitting events through our automated form so that they can be posted on our Web site to enlist support.
Fur Free Friday is observed the day after Thanksgiving throughout the country. You can join an event in your area or put together one of your own. Please be sure to register your activity here so IDA can assist you in publicizing it. If you are interested in joining to help with an event in your area, please check our Events page for updates.
Please note that we can provide event coordinators with anti-fur literature and posters, as well as fur farm and trapping footage to help you communicate your message more persuasively. If you’re not able to take part at a demo on November 27th, there are also numerous ways to become engaged right from your home.
This year we're encouraging activists to hold demonstrations in front of Nordstrom, still a major carrier of fur products. Detailed information about IDA’s Nordstrom Campaign can be found here to find the Nordstrom location closest to you, click here.
