It's a dreaded phrase among those in need of health insurance: "pre-existing condition," but a state program is helping thousands find cheaper monthly insurance premiums.

Gina Are you coming to Wilmington?

Inclusive Health is a state program offering a health insurance option to individuals having difficulty finding affordable coverage. It is primarily geared to residents with pre-existing conditions who do not have access to group coverage or other government programs like Medicare or Medicaid.
It is also available to p...eople who have exhausted their COBRA continuation benefits and trade displaced workers.
With premiums capped by state law, Inclusive Health is often less expensive than traditional individual insurance coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.
The Western Piedmont Area of Health Underwriters is coordinating with Inclusive Health to provide experts for one-on-one assistance Oct. 12. They can help with eligibility questions and assisting you through the enrollment process as well as answering questions or comparing benefit plans and premium rates. A list of items for applicants to bring is available on our Web site.
At 11 a.m., Inclusive Health’s Executive Director Michael Keough will lead a brief discussion about the program. Inclusive Health members are invited to join us and share their stories during this presentation. Questions from the media and general public will be addressed.
