The City of Independence presents the thirteenth annual Christmas Walk & Tour to be held on Saturday, December 5th from 7 to 9 p.m. This event announces the start of the holiday season for the City of Independence. The walk will be from the Bradford Masonic Lodge to the Independence Senior Citizens and Community Cent...er.
Local choirs, bands and dancers will be performing throughout the evening at the municipal center, fire station #1 and the Independence Senior Citizens & Community Center. The Bradford Masonic Lodge will have a live nativity scene. Refreshments will be served along the route. Jude’s Custom Exhaust and Towing Service will be sponsoring Santa & Mrs. Claus. Santa will be stationed at the Municipal Center. Parents bring your cameras to take pictures. The camel will again make his appearance in the parking lot between fire station #1 and the Independence Senior Citizens and Community Center. Also pony rides will be in front of the Senior Center by the flag pole. Independence Wendy’s will be serving chili inside the senior center. The camel, pony rides, hot chocolate and chili are free to the public. Also there will be children’s activities as well as a door prize drawing inside the Senior Citizen’s and Community Center.
