Rosie Bishop Our daughter set me up with Facebook albums that include LOTS OF gorgeous scenes from our grass-free yarden and the critters we have welcomed. Here I sit knee-deep in winter, with days getting longer and sunflowers blooming.

Sameera, I haven't made any hoop house, but I've seen several online made from cattle/livestock panels. The cattle panels heavy gauge metal sturdy enough to fence in cattle. They are 16' long & about 4.5' high and can be bent over into a "hoop" shape. They won't be very tall or wide, but you can wire 2 or more panels together. Then you can... See More just cover it with heavy duty greenhouse plastic.

I've used the same principle to make a "hoop" grape arbor & it works really well. I drove steel T-posts into the ground about 6' apart, bent the cattle panel between them to form a hoop & anchored the panel to the posts with wires. You can get the panels at someplace like Tractor Supply Company, which is awkward to get if you don't have access to a pickup truck.
Do a search online for "cattle panel" greenhouse or hoop house to see if the concept would work for you. Good luck!

Janet

Janet I'm so glad to have found IOGA on facebook! We have an organic vegetable garden with 21 raised beds, but we don't know any other local organic gardeners, and we're eager to learn and share!

Rosie Bishop Welcome Gardeners and Bug Lovers, Is this ready for forum and blog comments? I spotted a red(ish) tomato yesterday, the raspberries (red, yellow and black) are waning, as are the pea pods, lettuce still tasty and rain is expected soon. Life is good here in this Amazement Park we call Earth.
