Michelle Whitson DeWitt Has anyone heard of a bounty for coyotes? I have heard mixed reports that it is a discussion with the DNR and other reports that it is already in place.

Doug Felix Didn't know IDNR had this page until I read it on the Hunting-Indiana website. Don't know if I agree with not printing the regs anymore though-I'd think just a B&W printing would/could still be available for those without computer access. I know my dad, who is almost 80 will never be on the computer....

David What is the status of muskie stocking at Brookville Lake? Are they worth taking a trip for?

They're still getting stocked on a surplus basis. For instance, 20,000 fingerling muskie were stocked in 2008. We have seen decent numbers of +30" muskie during our walleye broodstock operation in the spring. There are fishable muskie numbers at Brookville, but the anglers we have talked to have had a hard time finding them.

they have to have your permission to hunt or retrieve any game. if they do not then they are traspassing. also if there are stands on your property you can take them down. i hunt my own land and i have taken a stand down that i found on my property. i left a note on the tree for the intruder.

Chris Williams

Chris Williams I have some property owned by White River State Parks near my home in Marion County. Is it legal to urban deer hunt (bow) on this property? I see deer there all the time and occaisionally the dead one that was hit by a car on the adjacent busy road.

Checked with the park and it is not legal to hunt there. With any of the urban zones, you have to check local ordinances in addition to make sure you can hunt.

Steven Bullard

Steven Bullard we have problems with people saying we can't cross property by floating and fishing naviable rivers. way I read it is if the river was naviable before statehood the state still owns the river bottom. is this true? nobody ever gives us a straight answer.

The best thing to do would be contact your local conservation officer and give them more details. You can find your district CO here http://www.in.gov/dnr/lawenfor/2755.htm

Nathan Sipes Is it true that the Indiana Ruffed Grouse season might be shortened next year? I have heard this, and was curious where I might find more information on this subject. Thanks.

I missed the meeting but understanding was they preliminary adopted the rule which would allow for a 6 week season for grouse on PUBLIC lands only. The season on private lands would remain unchanged.
