Inline Four

This weekend we began Phase 2 testing of the Sun Auto Hyper Force System. Phase 1 was fitment testing and we were able to confirm the harness and coil plug fitments on K-series and F-series engines (4cyl. application). Phase 2 is the dyno testing on various applications. We first tested this on the newer F22 S2000 m...otor. We were pleased with the results, as the installation was easy and the improvement in driveability was great. We instantly noticed quicker pick-up in the low to mid range area and it seemed smoother at peak rpm.

I decided to use my S2000, since it has common bolt-ons and relatively close to what many entry-level S2000 enthusiasts have. My car is equiped with a Comptech intake, J's Racing 70mm full titanium exhaust and a test pipe. Factory temp 6 Iridium plugs were used for this test along with 91 octane (no UL Accelerator =)). The lowest baseline run without the Hyper Force unit was 207whp and 145 ft. lbs. of torque. After installation of the Hyper Force System, we managed 211.9 whp and 150 ft. lbs. of torque. That is pretty good for a quick and easy bolt-on product. That's more than what a air filter will give an S2000.

Overall, we are pleased with the test results and will relay them to Sun Auto this week. Our next vehicle to test this unit on is the 06-2010 Civic Si and 02-06 RSX Type-S. If you know of anyone local, please contact me at baciob@inlinefour.comRead More
