Inner Traditions/Bear & Co. Author
Marc David was on the Deconstructing Dinner radio show last week
discussing his book The Slow Down Diet.

He reveals how our body's
ability to digest and metabolize food is not determined just by the
scientific breakdown of the food itself but by our level of relaxation,
the quality of the food, and our awareness when... we're eating as well as
the pleasure we find in our meals.

Check out this online recording of
the show for more info!

This book looks great! I don't write much but I have an insider account to a Sadhu of a tradition claiming to be older than the Juna akhara. He is Kathia Baba of the Nimbarki akhara, (photographed in your Sadhu's book). Here's a link to him teaching the unteachable,

Yes, but in the Native examples that you stated, there are manifestations of the one God in the world which in themselves are godly like Mother earth, father sky..... As far as the cults of Egypt which became monotheistic, that could have rightly been the influence of Jewish enslavement there. At what time did they begin? I would love to learn more.

The rise of the Cult of Amun came after the expulsion of the "Shepherd Kings" or Hyksos. It was during the time of the Hyksos that Joseph (of the old testament) rose to prominence, and the alleged slavery of the Habiru or Shasu (hebrews) and the Exodus of Moses came well after the rise of the cult of Amun. The first instance of the Shasu of Yahweh ... See Moreis dated to about 12 or 13 BC, whereas The Cult of Amun began closer to 14 or 15 BC. It has been theorized by secular scholars that the Monotheism of the Jewish people came about as a direct result of Moses' indoctrination into the Monotheism of Amun (he was raised that way, after all), which was then superimposed onto Yahweh during his leadership. The people themselves were quite content to be Polytheistic (holding on to the older ways from the pre-Amun times), which is indicated by their construction of the Golden Calf, an example of either the Apis Bull or, more likely, the cow of Hathor.
