Accountability run amuck! Vague questions get subjective answers. Each teacher will use their own judgement, or lack thereof, because they are too pressed for time to really consider. Results will be invalid. What is the frequency? What really happens to the data? And really - quality planning and teaching time should never be compromised! Good teachers will leave the County!

is worried about the future of the Baltimore County Public Schools. We can only spend so many hours a day on schoolwork. The idea that a school day is 7 hours is a joke. I challenge anyone to complete the work we already do in less than 10 hours a day,and in most cases when you add in the time spent on weekends, it's more like 12. And in the ... See Moreend, what benefit is there to students? Tired teachers who don't have the ability to plan and teach engaging lessons! Is the goal to create a layer of data, or to help children grow and learn? "Students first" is a thing of the past!

A large number of teachers at City College are National Board Certified or currently pursuing it. I am not, mainly because I am still waiting for someone explain to me why it is so worthwhile beyond the extra four grand a year.
