Thanks, Tina, for your comments. I used to do that very thing. I think we do that in a lot of arenas - see something done and just assume that's how it's done and copy it. Thank goodness for learning to think more critically about the world and the choices we make in it :)

Even "green" fireworks frighten animals. The pounds are full of dogs on July 5 who panicked and bolted out of fear of the noise. Please, NO FIREWORKS, period!
