The poll indicated that the majority of Chinese think their country will overtake the US in terms of innovation in a few decades. From Mark Clift's comment, the same seems to be true of Hong Kong. Otherwise, I plead guilty to reading US media - but the poll actually looked at multiple countries, if you take a moment to read it.
