I have been experiencing the pain of IC for a little over a year now, and have recently been pseudo-diagnosed with the disease. I have been put on a low dose of Elavil. While it does seem to help with some aspects of the pain, I'm starting to feel emotionally disconnected and am starting to feel agitated and semi-depre...ssed. Lora Elledge Cano I’m having such a bad day today due to the side effects of my medications. Lately it seems like my pain is under control with the medications but the side effects with the medication are just as bad as the pain. I constantly have exhaustion, dizziness, and nausea.

Michelle Skinner hey im 21 and have had IC for 5years now, had various operations an have tried so many different medications, at the moment i am on amitriptyline but it doesnt seem to be doing anything for me, im constantly in pain and never have a good day, its really getting me down so today i decided to try an find more people like me, as not many people seem to understand. does any1 have any advise to help cope better?

Holly Wilder Hi all...just diagnosed about a week ago. I am on several meds and trying to use a strict IC diet. I am scheduled to start instillations tomorrow. However, right now I am pain free. Should I go through with instillations?
Jodi Zuchowski I know we are all different but on average how long does a "flare" take to go away? Also, what do you take when you are flaring?
Lori Helms Does anyone know if dr.s can tell if you have bladder cancer through a urine culture? My obgyn dr. Did a culture on Monday and they called on Friday to tell me it was neg. He said he was going to test for cancer cells. So does that mean they didn't find anything. And how accurate are the urine test to find cancer in your bladder?
Jacqueline Patricia Peate Hi. Can someone help me with IBS problems. I have suffered with IC for 15 years or more. I went for a colonoscopy (spell?) a while ago and i was told i now have IBS as well. Does this make IC symptoms worse, because that it what i am finding.
