After two hugely successful years the third annual Highland Santa Run returns to Inverness on Sunday 29th November to kick off the Christmas season in style. The 2008 Santa Run saw hundreds of people from across Inverness, the Highlands and Moray take part in this 5km fun run with a festive twist….all participants wer...e dressed as Santa! You can register to be part of the fun at the UK’s most northerly Santa Run now.
The Highland Santa Run follows a beautiful 5km route along Inverness's riverside, passing beneath the iconic castle and weaving through the Ness Islands. The event is open to all ages and abilities, whether you want to go for a serious run (well, as serious as you can be in a Santa Suit!) or jog or walk around the course with your friends, family or colleagues.
The Santa Run is being held to raise money for WildHearts, a dynamic Scottish charity that provides microloans and business training to help people in the developing world work their own way out of poverty, giving them a hand up and not a hand out. Your sponsorship money will be re-lent for years to come, now that's a Christmas gift that will keep on giving! Participants can set their own fundraising target, but everyone should raise a minimum of £30 for WildHearts.
