The Examined Life: Writing and the Art of Medicine We're very excited to welcome our featured presenters to the 2010 conference. They are Lan Samantha Chang, MFA, fiction writer and director of the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop; Sayantani DasGupta, MD, memoirist and core faculty of the Program in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University; and Nick Flynn, MFA, poet.

Lan Samantha Chang has served as director of the Iowa Writers' Workshop since 2006. She is the author of a collection of short fiction, Hunger (1998), and a novel, Inheritance (2004). Her work has been translated into nine languages and has been chosen twice for The Best American Short Stories. ...
