DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 7, Thursday 11th March - More hours of hard graft trekking but every corner beholds an incredible view. Loads of photos later and we trek back down the mountain to the coach and a fairly short journey back to the next hostel. This was a very new one and modern, warmth at last... A terrific Chinese meal followed by a couple of beers...

DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 7, Thursday 11th March - After evading the Chinese authorities we moved further along the wall to start the days trekking. It meant going through a local, very rural village which was really interesting. We criss-crossed up the mountain side to get to an entrance of the watchtower and gain access to the wall.

DPS Technology Group China Trek News Flash - The province chief of police, the local chief of police and a military diplomat decided we needed further investigation. So we have decided to move further up the wall and make a start there, but I guess we are marked people!!!!

DPS Technology Group China Trek News Flash - Our group has been detained by the Chinese police and the military contacted for further instructions. We are at the base of the first stage of the walk and at the moment on the coach. Great fun, could only happen to this group, were are likely to have to wait for a military base closeish to our... walk to get security in place, and awaiting clearance from the powers that be....

DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 6, Wednesday 10th March - We also had the ultra long zip slide which although I was initially worried about it I need not have been as it was brilliant. After our evening meal our team won the quiz night!!!!! Go team ting tong !!! Few drinkies and bed as tomorrow brings another 7 hours more of trekking- night night all.

DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 6, Wednesday 10th March - 7 hours of trekking arguably the most incredible scenery I have ever witnessed. We climbed hundreds of steps and negotiated very steep slopes my legs will ache like hell tomorrow. In the afternoon we crossed a river on a suspension bridge, not top of my to do list but h...aving already negotiated many heights and scary moments it didn't seem so bad.

DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 5, Tuesday 9th March - Eventually we got there and had a hot shower for the first time in many hours... Evening meal and bed, did I forget the few beers in between... Tomorrow is expected to be a tough a perilious day.... Stay tuned folks Dean

DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 5, Tuesday 9th March - The trekkers left gifts of pens, paper, pencils and a little money, the kids were brilliant and well behaved. After that we were to get a coach to our next stop simtai but it broke down.... Our 2 hour transfer turned into a five hour epic.. But everyone was great and spirits high.

DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 5, Tuesday 9th March - At the end of the two hours it was arranged that we would visit a small local school. This was brilliant (even if it did make me think of home and my little one...) they do have a free education but have to walk two more kilometres each way everyday and carry everything with them including water.

DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 5, Tuesday 9th March - Freezing night but warm enough to sleep a little. 2 hour trek through villages this morning, some more great scenery in the snow. It was relatively straight forward as most sections of the wall were considered too trecherous to trek on, so we used the roadside.

DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 4, Monday 8th March - It is bl••dy freezing and me and Brian have an electric blanket (which would struggle to breathe warmth in to an ice cube) two heater things, four thin duvets and our sleeping bags, still bl••dy freezing. Providing we survive the frostbite!

DPS Technology Group China Trek Update - Day 4, Monday 8th March - We then trekked back down the mountain through the forest, which was great. Then walked via road for a couple of hours to our next stop over. This was a family home/farmhouse. The family does the cooking and a few of us were allocated a little two bed chalet, the others were in fire beds up to 7 in a row.
