Faye Birkin

Faye Birkin Just watched this movie & loved it! I am in immigrant to Canada (although from South Africa not China) so can understand a small part of the feeling of displacement that comes from being an alien in a foreign country. I would love to see a second movie made...Little Tiger & James belong together!

Morgan Hampton

Morgan Hampton Fantastic movie all around: great acting, great plot; great scenery, etc... But I REALLY wish that James and Little Tiger would have gotten together! Anybody else think maybe they're leaving it open for a sequel??? Fingers crossed?!?! ;)

Melissa

Melissa Great movie, Great acting all around little bummed about the ending but this really needed to be done, good job cbc, best one since Anne of Green Gables. Anyone know when the movie will be out to buy, I missed bits and pieces and would love to watch the full movie.

Julie Yang

Julie Yang I only saw about half of the first part but I saw the whole second part. The ending was extremely sad but the movie overall was fantastic.

Sharon Zhang

Sharon Zhang really liked this movie. Taught me alot. I am so moved by the braveness of Little Tiger, the hardness of those Chinese workers, and the love between the two leading characters. Even though the ending was kinda disappointing, but at the end of the movie when Little Tiger was on the train she said she would live bravely ...on Gold Mountain and built the railroad in her future life. so that was not really sad then, cause they might be together after little tiger sent her dad back to China.

Bruce Dickson

Bruce Dickson Little Tiger's moment of anguished recognition is absolutely heart-wrenching. Actress Sun Li musters a cri-du-coueur that speaks, not only for her remarkable character, but also for an entire displaced and exploited immigrant mass of workers. David Wu's direction and editing (correctly allowing the music to dominate) a...re spot on in this scene on which the film's full emotional punch completely depends. A truly operatic and transcendant moment in homage to the story's roots and its universal significance. Bravo to all involved. Bravo!
