What was the most unique taspect of the trip?

Hard to say as it was all unique as I have never had such wonderful dives, but I would have to single out the fact that 5 or 6 Gray Reef Sharks and 1 Bull Shark followed us around while diving the Blue Hole from 140 feet all they way up to the 15 feet safety stop.

How are you getting out there? Are you taking the Ferry or going on a day boat?

Haven't seen snow or Tahoe in a few years. What a blast! When are planning to returning to the ocean?

Sounds like a wide range of fun in Southern CA for the dive community. Isn't it grreat to be able to make the rounds like that in a single weekend? Keep in mind that you can go skiing on Sat and diving on Sun.

I have been a happy camper all day and so now that I am home I wanted to share why.Today I went down to San Diego with the Laguna Sea Dwellers to dive Wreck Alley. I had never been there before and was really looking forward to diving the HMCS Yukon after all the reports and books I had seen on her. When we arrived the conditions were not too bad, ... Read Morebut upon entering the water we were greeted with only 10ft Vis., 59F temp, and with a decent current blowing across the wreck. On such a big ship this could really make for a rough dive, especially for a first-timer. It turned out to be an excellent dive for me.Last summer I did some work for Alberto and the DiveNav team. Part of my duties was gathering information and locations for placement of items on the virtual Yukon. Through my virtual diving over the months that I was with them I guess I really started to learn the wreck and today it showed.We were on the bow mooring and dropped down the line to the bow of the ship. We then slipped around to see the dolphin cutout and then back to the top side of the ship, as the current was blowing from top to bottom across the wreck. As we made our way along the structure I was working to get my bearings in the low visibility. We came upon part of a room. As I looked in I could tell it was the powder room for the front guns, so we headed around to see the guns themselves and get the view looking down the barrels. From here, we headed back to the towers we I was able to locate Milt's Tilt directly and finally got to see the real plaque that I had seen so many pictures of. A cool new thing to see was the bust of Milt that has been placed just above the plaque, after his passing recently. We then moved over to the main building where I located Donathon's plaque. As we were looking inside the room the plaque is attached to my computer showed 1500psi. At this point I turned and headed along the starboard side of the deck. As we came to the 2nd mooring line my buddy looked at me and I waved him off and told him we needed to keep going. Soon after we were back at the bow of the ship and ready to make our ascent and stops up the line on our way back to the surface to end a fun first dive on the Yukon.Once we were back on the surface and everyone was starting to share the details of their dives I could tell already that my virtual dive time on the wreck had really helped me to enjoy this dive. Even my buddy made the comment that he could tell I was diving like I knew just where I was and where I wanted to go.Alberto, I want to thank you, and the team, for making such a great tool. It really did come in handy and helped out a lot in the enjoyment of my dive today.
