Pumpkin carving is a part of childhood, what about those safety saws they sell for children to carve with? Also cut proof gloves. I have never know a child, or anyone to cut themselves while carving pumpkins. It might be more of a parent supervision issue. I worked on a pumpkin farm and carved many pumpkins as well as watched children carve. It was very safe.
