For the SHA collaboration of CIA and Cornell University, if I plan to take CIA first, how many years will it take me to finish in Cornell? How many months are there in 1 semester for Cornell curriculum?

If I take certificate in Baking and Pastry in Greystone Campus and then transfer to Cornell, am I considered as transferee there as well?

Thanks

joe,
I got in the engineering college with scores and a gpa like that. I only had ap calc ab & bc so i wouldn't get too worried. A good plan, however, is to really make yourself known at the admissions office. If you can make it up to ithaca and meet with an admissions officer, that would be the best course of action. The admissions officers are specific for different regions so meet with the one who will view your application personally.
The place where you will really stand out is with your essay. trust me, this is not something you want to BS. You could go the route i took. I wrote a 3 page Noir Story instead of some BS essay about why i love cornell. on the common application there is a place to write anything extra. for that i wrote why i chose to submit a short story instead of an essay. I explained how my creativity and unique personal style said more about me than anything else.
Cornell loves honesty like that.
early decision is a good idea. it shows your commitment.

in response to joe delaney....cornell accepts the highest number of applicants...its still tough !!! i had like...a 3.8 gpa...with SATs similair to urs and i got a guaranteed transfer....it all depends on ur luck and the competition in ur year. This year cornell accepted like a HUGE AMOUNT of applicants compared to last year which wasnt as much. ALso with all this affirmative action agenda that the U.S educational world seems to be wanting to follow is a big variable in ur admission's decision. I know a person who had a 102 average and had ridiculous extracurriculars and didnt get into cornell while another friend (of minority background)i know had around a 90-93 average and decent extracurriculars got accepted. whether u like it or not..whether u think its right or not..whether u think it really does exist or not....you just have to bare with it and accept things just the way they turn out to be....everyone at cornell is hard working...good luck man!!!! hope to see u the

What do you guys think the odds of me getting into Cornell are with a 720 M & 700 V and 710 W
GPA 3.8
Lots of Extra Curricular
Good Recommendations (one from an alumni teacher at my school)
and 7 APs
Will Early Decision help?
