Tishomingo County Archives & History Museum Hey Fans - We have been really busy which is good. I want to let everyone know about Sunday. We are helping with a Dedication Memorial Service at Shady Grove Cemetery Oct. 25th at 3:00. There has been a new stone erected for the fallen Confederate Soldiers that died in the Battle of Iuka - Septemeber 19, 1862. Come support our local heritage.
Tishomingo County Archives & History Museum Hey - getting ready for court tomorrow. It should start about 9:30. Some of it will open to the public and some will not. The judge will let everyone know if they have to leave. I am going to the fair tonight then coming back to finish cleaning. And we now have air-conditioning. THANKS BUTCH!!!!!
Tishomingo County Archives & History Museum Hey Fans, It has been busy around the museum so I haven't posted anything in a couple of weeks but it is good busy!! We have alot of exciting things happening. I am very excited about Thursday Oct 8th. We will be having actual Chancery Court upstairs in the courtroom. This will be the first time since the closing of th...is courthouse in 1971. So anyone in town Thursday will hear the bells ring out to start court.

Tishomingo County Archives & History Museum I want to say a BIG thanks to the Master Gardeners!! They have worked so hard on our grounds. Without their hard work it wouldn't look good at all. And a thank you to Sids Trading Post and Terrie for the beautiful pots out front and the mums around the flag pole. Oh and thanks to Monotech for the flag pole. Tishomingo County Archives & History Museum We are back at the museum today but with no air-conditioning. The heat makes it feel like an old building. Maybe we will have cool air tomorrow. The photo I am posting today is easy but it wouldn't be Iuka with him. Enjoy.
Tishomingo County Archives & History Museum The air-conditioner guy disconnected the upstairs units and we will have to see about replacing them but thank goodness we were able to shut everything off before any damage. I would like to thanks all the Iuka Fire Department guys that came to help. They were amazing.
Tishomingo County Archives & History Museum Well yesterday was an exciting one for the museum. Heritage Day was great this year. I am just sorry that we could have any visitors. I made a call to the Iuka Fire Department at about 8:45 when we discovered smoke in the courtroom. We saw no flames but I was not taking changes. The Iuka Fire Department was GREAT!!!!!!...!! They checked everything and found no hot spots but we had to leave the power off most of the day.
