I totally agree. AND there`s even, 3 unpublished/uncollected or LOST short stories by Salinger which relates the posible end of Holden. one,The Last Day of the Last Furlough says that Holden has been missing or dead in action during WW2. another uncollected short story from Salinger (This Sandwich Has No Mayonnaise) also says that Holden was ... See Moremissing in action. both stories are narrated by Vincent, Holden oldest brother. and finally there is The Stranger, another uncollected Salinger short story published in Collier`s which says that at the time of this story all 3 Caulfield brothers are dead or missing during WW2. this should be the last of the cronologically Caulfield stories. really sad...
