Sindy

Sindy Try L'opera Patisserie et Cafe (5291 Yonge Street, North York). Got lovely cakes at a good price, and the interior is really nice and quiet. I heard one of the staff talking and he seemed to really know about coffee. It just opened so you can stay beyond 10pm.

Thanks Sindy, added to our "Restaurants we plan on trying list" http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=13792518013&id=7597209669

JA EATS TORONTO HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT MONTEY'S Grill at the Colossus Woodbridge Plaza! We went into a half empty restaurant, waited ten minutes before somebody took our order, then sat there for another 40 minutes without even water being served to us, then we just got up and left. DON'T GO THERE!

JA EATS TORONTO

JA EATS TORONTO really really hates how we can't directly respond to people's wall post on this thing.

JA EATS TORONTO Hi Arjuna, I know that there is high tea at Grand Island (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=12197&id=7597209669), but we haven't tried it yet. In terms of the downtown restaurants serving high tea, we don't really have any reviews of those cause we usually go to those restaurants for dinner if anything. We did try the buffet brunch at Bb33 and it was very good. Do you have any recommendations for us to try? :-)

Hey Arjuna, thanks for the update! Actually I find bier markt kinda loud too, but it's a semi-clubbing environment, so it's all good.
We checked out that high-tea at Grand Island, nothing special, but it's not bad for just ten bucks. It was really just a place to chill and have a drink (normal tea or normal coffee, nothing special) with friends, and maybe have a few oysters.

JA EATS TORONTO Hi Salsera, we added Ethiopian House to our "Restaurants we plan on trying" List (http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=13792518013&id=7597209669). Thanks for the suggestion!

JA EATS TORONTO Hi Christina, glad to hear that this page is giving you and your bf more options for places to eat! In terms of a good cheesecake place, we haven't really found anything that was really exceptional. There is Carole's Cheesecake Cafe at Yorkville (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=27030&id=7597209669), they had a big variety, and they were pretty good, but I believe you can buy the same cheesecakes at Longos.

Christina

Christina me and my bf like to eat around too. 老李牛肉麵 and Gal Sushi are usual place that we visit, since we don't know other place to eat. But after reading your reviews, guess there's more place for us to go now. thanks~
ps-any suggestion for a good cheesecake place?

JA EATS TORONTO finds this new page layout misleading, how are we supposed to respond to people's comments directly????

I know, it's so stupid. I wish they would fix this.

JA EATS TORONTO I think most people would say The Host (http://www.welcometohost.com/locations.html) has good Indian food. We actually had some co-workers from India who came to Toronto once, and they went to The Host and told us that the restaurant served, to quote them, "really authentic Indian food." I (Alan) have also tried Jaipur (http://www.toronto.com/restaurants/listing/153883), and thought it was okay.

Pauline

Pauline have you guys ever had any good indian food around markham? I've only had good ones downtown, any places you recommend with gooooood butter chicken?
