Thanks Jimmy. The answer to your question is right in the post which is impossible to miss. I attended the opening with just one body and one lens:

You're not the first and you won't be the last to not have bothered with the words. In fact it happens so much (based on loose and random statistics) I wonder why I continue to write so much :)

JAN SHIM PHOTOGRAPHY A wedding without the presence of kids is like a wedding without the bouquet both symbolic of a blossoming partnership (or a symbol of fertility as our grandparents would say).

Thanks! When leaders doze off that phenomenon is called power napping. When we mere mortals do it, the description isn't nearly as glam.

Hopefully such tradition doesn't lose its meaning over time as ceremonies become simplified to suit the taste of newer generation.

JAN SHIM PHOTOGRAPHY Another rehearsal picture of Conductor Charles Olivieri-Munroe and the Prague Chamber Orchester at the TOYOTA CLASSICS 2009, International Convention Centre, Brunei Darussalam. The stage got too warm so the tux came off but this gave Charles contrast against the otherwise dark and uninteresting background.

JAN SHIM PHOTOGRAPHY Soprano Marie's amazing vocals gets a thumbs-up from Conductor Charles during rehearsal at the TOYOTA CLASSICS 2009. She's got my vote too!

I remarked in an earlier post how the EOS 5D II 's high ISO sensitivity opens new doors to incredible low-light images, this is another glowing example from a slightly different vantage point.

There is more tone in this photo than the eye could see that evening. Other than the illumination from the stage, dynamic range wasn't exactly eye popping.

JAN SHIM PHOTOGRAPHY Soprano Marie Fajtova has such amazing voice it's no wonder Conductor Charles Olivieri-Munroe joins the audience in applauding her performance. This photo was shot by apprentice/assistant Gavin.

JAN SHIM PHOTOGRAPHY The lemon squeeze is the first image from my Cheeze Box cafe menu shoot from oh-not-so-long ago that I'm releasing on Facebook and eventually on my blog.

The lime squeeze picture some of you may have seen from my Singapore Airlines magazine shoot of our popular Soto Rosmini in Bandar Seri Begawan.

James from neighbour Miri stopped by the oil town for a bite at Kaizen Sushi earlier this evening en route the Brunei capital. We first got acquainted at Excapade Sushi in Kuala Belait then progressed to Kaizen in Seria for convenience. Check out his photographs at http://jameswong.wordpress.com/ produced on his belove...d EOS 50D :)

All work and no play makes me crave the outdoors! I don't remember the last time when I actually leaf foot prints in the sand. Yesterday, I turned down an invite to badminton for the third weekend now and I can feel the heatiness building up inside. More water less or no coffee is probably the best idea now but serious...ly, I'd rather be kicking water and enjoying a beautiful sunset (poof! Jan snaps out of a dream only to face the reality of more photos to process).

I managed to sneak out of the house (leaving my conscience at home) and played four games with two regular weekend partners. My body has not ached this much considering in one of the games, it was equivalent of playing 3 regular sets so you can imagine the agony now compounding things. The exercise was much needed nonetheless and it felt good afterwards.
