JANA PERI ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE OF JANA PERI’S NEW HOLIDAY SINGLE "I HATE THE HOLIDAYS (BUT I LOVE SPENDING THEM WITH YOU)

Greetings, Everyone!

I'm very excited to report that I just independently released the soon-to-be holiday classic “I Hate The Holidays (But I Love Spending Them With You)” on my own Hot Jupiter label Tuesda...y, November 17th. The single track, which was released digitally only, is currently available for download on my website (www.janaperi.com), Facebook "My Store" tab and MySpace page (www.myspace.com/janaperi) and will soon make its way to popular online stores, including CDBaby.com, iTunes.com and eMusic.com in the coming weeks. To celebrate, we're having a release party/show in NYC on Friday, December 18th. (Scroll down for details).

“I Hate The Holidays (But I Love Spending Them With You)” was recorded at Beautyrock Recording Studio in Long Island City, NY. I co-produced it with the wonderfully talented Peter Kohl (aka Royce Peterson of the bands Moi? and Tragedy). It features me on lead vocals, electric guitars and glockenspiel, Jacob Callis on bass guitar and background vocals and Ned Stroh on drums, percussion and background vocals. Pete also did the engineering and mastering and contributed a little tremolo guitar. The adorable artwork for the single was illustrated by noted cartoonist Cliff Mott who is also the official artist for pop music tribute group Loser’s Lounge with whom Pete and I often sing.

Pete sums up the essence of the song like this: “Jana Peri has recorded a holiday classic with universal meaning; not the typical holiday fluff, however. The song expresses the tensions, frustrations and expectations thrust upon us during
‘the most wonderful time of the year.’ But in the end, she discovers that the joy of the season is found, not by waiting in a checkout line or in a traffic jam to Grandmother's house, but by being with the one she loves.” I couldn't have said better myself.

Jana Peri On The Radio Today (Saturday)!
Aloha! After nearly five years of playing my music on his radio show, I finally just did an interview with Michael McCartney for The Time Machine, which is based in Maui. He is kicking off his holiday programming with “I Hate The Holidays.” (Pretty funny that my New York-centric holiday song is making its debut on Hawaiian radio!)

The one Maui radio station of the four that are playing the single that streams online is KEAO 91.5 FM (http://www.manaoradio.com/) and my interview segment can be heard this Saturday at http://ttm.popchats.com.
