Thanx for sharing the recording sessions in Nashville with us JD. Amazing! Imagine playing in a band in a club in Nashville and then have JD Souther walk in and pick you for his new album. ....then...practicing with him in a barn. This is something for a Hollywood script/movie.

Hi JD, I love Rain. In the beginning of the song, I envision a man looking at a MiddleEastern women...possibly Egypt or Morroco since it is taking place in Africa. He is wildly attracted to her. He cannot stop watching her. She also looks at him, though her Black Abbaya and Black veil that covers all but her eyes. The wind is blowing as she walk in... Read More the desert sand, away from the old market place. The wind blows her Abbaya out, away from her legs. They are showing as she walks. They are beautiful. He is aroused but forbidden in an Islamic country, to touch her, talk to her, hold her hand or kiss her. So he thinks to himself, "maybe it'll rain" to cool him off....and because Rain is such a precious and rare thing in those desrts.
I love the words. I love the bands sounds with a slightly MiddleEastern, Exotic edge and I love your voice.
