Jacoby McCabe Ellsbury (born September 11, 1983, in Madras, Oregon) is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Boston Red Sox. Originally drafted, but not signed, by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 23rd round of the 2002 MLB entry draft and in 2005 was drafted by Boston, 23rd overall, in the entry draft out of Oregon State University.
Jacoby is officially enrolled as a member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes and is the first Native American of Navajo descent to reach the Major Leagues.
Ellsbury was raised a Latter-day Saint.
