Jalopnik
[Al Navarro]: As my final post as an admin at the Official Jalopnik Facebook Page, I'm proud to announce that Nick Bullock has been selected as the winner of our "Wow, we have 4,000 fans!" Contest. Nick was semi-randomly picked by me and will be receiving a publisher's edition of "Lotus Sevens & The Independents" by D...ennis Ortenburger as soon as he emails me his mailing info. Thanks everyone for your support!Read More

Thought some of my Jalop friends might like this, I find it just odd...

Jalopnik [Al Navarro]: Finally. The vid is has been posted. Check it out at Jalopnik.com using the link below:

Jalopnik [Al Navarro]: Editing down the CTS-V Challenge vid this AM. I took the scenic route (including a stop to see my folks) home last night.

Jalopnik [Al Navarro]: Best quote of the day was from a Cobalt driving corner worker after I told him Lutz was on track: "He is? I've got some issues with GM products that I'd like to share with him!"

Jalopnik [Al Navarro]: Hope for the rest of us: I caught Corvette hotshoe Johnny O'Connell talking to Michael Cooper (M3 guy) and Johnny seemed genuinely impressed with Cooper's performance. O'Connell said "You hit all your marks, man." The extent of Cooper's training/experience? The Skip Barber advanced class and a few arrive and drives. Oh, and Forza 2. Walter Mittys of the world, rejoice.

Jalopnik [Al Navarro]: After my laps (I was a passenger, btw), I spoke to Michael Cooper, the winning M3 driver. He had just gotten out of a CTS-V himself...and said something like "I could probably find another 3 seconds in that car [the CTS] vs. my M3. The brakes are amazing."

Jalopnik [Al Navarro]: I just got back from my "hot laps" in the CTS-V with Mark, who makes a living as a HPDE instructor. A few observations: A) Mint Advertising needs to become huge, so I can afford to join Monticello Motor Club, B) Professional drivers are not like you and I...they know where and how to brake and turn in much more accurately and decisively than mortals, and C) The CTS-V is one bad-ass car.

Jalopnik Official Times: Mike Cooper, M3: 2:50:424; Jack Baruth, CTS-V: 2:51:153; Lawrence Ulrich, CTS-V: 2:53:157; Bob Lutz, CTS-V: 2:56:321; Mike Mainwald, M5: 3:05:348; Wes Siler, Evo: 3:08:126....then a bunch of others, including the Jag at 3:15 something...
