James Chris James James Chris James Ok, so here it is: Holy Joe's on Sept 11th at 10:30pm. Eric and I will be performing along with special guest virtuoso, Jordan B Wright. A couple new songs as well, though almost all are now new since it's a bare-bones arrangement. See you soon.

James Chris James One More Try - a song on this page somewhere - is a Rolling Stones song from the 1965 record Out of Our Heads. The original version is much more fun and up-tempo but I heard the lyrics and felt compelled to try a more down-and-out version. It's on the same record as the classic "Satisfaction." I know other Stones re...cords are considered cooler but Out of Our Heads is great from start to finish. Great record.
James Chris James She was completely unruffled by the experience and after an edge-of-your-seat 4 minute (forever!) pause - she remained stock still in the center of a massive empty stage with the band on repeat at low volume. She waited patiently for the assistants to have disappeared completely and the lights to have dimmed before s...he nodded to the band and dove back into the song for the final verse.....and a standing ovation.
James Chris James Saw her in NY at the Beacon Theater in 2000, she passed away in 2003. It seems like a different age now looking back. It was before we watched the twin towers come down, before the city was traumatized. Summer. Her head-wrap came undone mid song. She screamed at the band to keep playing while she stood center sta...ge with two assistants frantically putting it back in place.
