On March 10, 1998, Salé and Pelletier’s partnership became an official reality. The chemistry between the two was instant and undeniable, and it would not be long before the rest of world would take notice. In 2000, they won their first of three consecutive Canadian Championships, and became the first pairs team to ever receive five perfect 6.0 scores in the history of the competition. After a disappointing fourth place finish at the World Championships in that same year, Jamie and David went into the 2001 World Championships in Vancouver poised to grab a spot on the podium. Skating in front of a home crowd, the pair did not disappoint, capturing the gold medal as well as the hearts of the Vancouver crowd.

Following their impressive performance at the World Championships, Jamie and David headed into the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City shouldering the expectations of an entire nation. When all was said and done, the pair emerged from an unprecedented Olympic controversy with gold medals around their necks. Jamie and David has also earned the respect and admiration of millions of fans all around the world for the esteem and dignity that they demonstrated both on and off the ice. For Jamie and David this marked the culmination of a lifelong dream.

The on ice success of Jamie and David has resulted in their induction into the Edmonton Sports Hall of Fame, the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and the Canadian Figure Skating Hall of Fame. In 2001 Jamie and David joined the likes of Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Kurt Browning as recipients of the very prestigious Lou Marsh award, honouring the best Canadian athlete(s) of the year.

In the fall of 2005, Jamie and David solidified their off ice partnership by exchanging wedding vows at a beautiful ceremony held in Banff, Alberta.

On September 30, 2007, Jamie and David welcomed their first child, a son named Jesse, born at the Sturgeon Community Hospital and Health Centre in St. Albert, Alberta. Jesse arrived weighing seven pounds and measuring 19 inches. (read less)
