It's a beautiful little church in a rural setting. When I was there in July, there were baby rabbits in the churchyard. I'm writing about it right now in my new novel about a group of Jane Austen addicts : )

In one of Jane's letters, she refers to "talking with our fingers" to an elderly acquaintance who is deaf. That led some people to conclude (with no other evidence, as far as I know) that George was deaf and that the family communicated with him using some sort of signing. I don't think "Becoming Jane" is reliable if you want facts.

it is because of some of Jane Austen's letter's that the disease Addison's was discovered, diagnosed and a treatment found, of course the disease took her life but her letters of the description of the disease have saved many including my son. Thank you Jane for all your writing's stories, letters ect... The disease only effects 1 in 100,000 people.
