Jane Goodall's Global Youth Summit | PSAs

In April, 100 young people from 28 countries gathered at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida for Jane Goodall's Global Youth Summit. The mission of Jane Goodall's Global Youth Summit is to create a cadre of engaged, active youth leaders dedicated to making positive changes happen in their communities and in the world.

Under the vision of the woman who redefined man, Dr. Jane Goodall, these youth came together and created community action plans addressing poverty, wildlife conservation, water sanitation and scarcity and environmental degradation.

Perhaps one of the most exciting parts of the Global Youth Summit, other then getting 100 young people from around the world together, was The Pearson Foundation's Digital Arts Workshops.

Over the course of the summit, the participants broke up into teams of three to five to create PSAs, or public service announcements. These PSAs ran from 30 seconds to one minute and were about one of three issues: wildlife conservation, water or poverty.

Want to see the PSAs? Now you can

Over the course of July, we will upload one PSA each day to the Roots & Shoots YouTube Channel. We will also post the video to the Roots & Shoots Fellow blog along with a little bit about the makers of the PSA, stories associated with it and our comments on the message and style of the PSA.

So, grab yourself a bag of popcorn, settle in and get your RSS Feed ready!

You will also be able to view the PSAs in our YouTube Box below!

Sinharaja Reserve Forest sri lanka , which is declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site. As per the Advisory body evaluation report in the UNESCO website ( http://whc.unesco.org/archive/advisory_body_evaluation/405.pdf), the forest felling or any other activities are banned within 1.6km range from the periphery of the reserve boundary, illegal forest felling is also going on

Hello everyone,
Here is a project every Roots and Shoots group can do. Our Roots and Shoots team is turning single use shopping bags into permanent bags. Take a look at our Youtube Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf7alw4RN5c. You can find out more at our web site http://www.doane.edu/News/22296/?view=ViewArticle. We are in the process of developing mosquito netting! and should have a how to Video of that soon. In developing countries, the crafting of these products could give a family real needed goods and allow them to sell there crafts for income. Spread the word.

Hi Everyone! I have been a fan of Jane for over 20 years, since I first heard of her work. I have used Jane's work constantly in my own life and business, as a guiding influence and inspiration. Today, her work remains a guiding influence in my work, and in the non-profit organisation I founded, love ideas. Brilliant work and thanks Jane. Dean Bleasdale http://loveideastoday.blogspot.com

"People say to me so often, "Jane how can you be so peaceful when everywhere around you people want books signed, people are asking these questions and yet you seem peaceful," and I always answer that it is the peace of the forest that I carry inside."
