Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth JASDFW hosted the 2009 Bonenkai "Forget-the-Year" party at Jinbeh Restaurant in Las Colinas on Monday, December 7th. Guests enjoyed teppanyaki-style Japanese food and sampled special Japanese New Year's food.

In between eating and mingling, guests also took part in games. For the first game, each guest randomly drew the... name of another guest and had to draw them. Then, other guests had to guess the person who was drawn. In the second game, guests had to guess what were in 10 bags. All of the items in the bags were either "winter" or "Japanese New Year" related. Some items included toshikoshi-soba, toshidama-bukuro, kadomatsu, etc.

Sam Shichijo

Sam Shichijo As a part of JASDFW membership survey, we are trying to identify groups of Japanese natives that we can focus our survey on. We know of DJA (Dallas Japanese Association) and Green-Kai. Are there any other groups that you know of? Any college groups? Please let me know if you know of any.

Sarah Corrigan Hans Do any high schools in the area offer Japanese language courses? This is the language my daughter wishes to study and I would like to know if there are even any secondary schools offering it or if she will have to wait for college and settle on something else in high school.
