"Alice in a Bosch Landscape"

"Alice in a Bosch Landscape" is the title - possibly my favourite Alice in Wonderland painting I've done yet! And it's BIG! This is the first in my sub-series called "Alice in Other Lands" which are paintings featuring Alice in a variety of unusu...al circumstances. Here we have my Alice in a Hieronymus Bosch (15th Century surrealist) landscape. You can see Bosch's tree-man, giraffe, and several other nods to his landscapes. This is a painting celebrating my loves of Alice in Wonderland and renaissance art - no reason why the two shouldn't go together! I've always thought that Alice's adventures should continue into many other bizarre tales, and you can expect to see more from me in the future. It's BIG - 18"x24" in size, READY TO HANG - 2" deep cradled masonite, hanger already on back. This was a fun one to do - this is the finished result of an eBay auction I listed for an unfinished Faces of Faery painting where the winning bidder got to tell me how to finish painting her. She made some wonderful choices - the painting turned out beautifully!

Here is the most complete listing of my "Faces of Faery" series! I'll do my best to keep it updated. There are a couple of them missing as I do occasionally do Faces of Faery and other paintings "Live" at art shows and conventions and typically sell those at the show itself and therefore do not have scans of them. H...ere however, you will find all of the series I have been able to scan in!

My Faces of Faery series are all original 6"x6" acrylic paintings on masonite. They are intended to be hung in groupings (they all fit together so nicely as they are all the same size and shape). They are always on 2" deep cradled boards and come ready to hang with no frames needed (gallery style hanging - black sides - hanger on back). I sometimes sell them at my art shows but mostly I sell them on eBay. On eBay I auction them starting at just ONE PENNY with no reserve, to give everybody a chance. They are a fun and the most affordable way to collect my original paintings!

"Alchemical Queen"

One of the most impressive collaborations between me & my husband Matt so far! For those art history buffs, this is a true FOLDING TRIPTYCH - done in the ...medieval altarpiece style. In the past, many churches would have folding altarpieces that they would unfold on Sundays or on holidays to display the painted interior. This is one done in high Gothic style - a solid poplar wood triptych (three paneled painting) first cut & carved by my lovely husband Matt - and then finished by me in an antiqued gold leaf finish. It is THREE original paintings in one - it features a Queen of Alchemy in the center, covered with runes and a human skull. On one side one of my little witch girls holds a serpent eating his tail (an Alchemical symbol) and the other an Egg. And yes indeed - it has hinges and folds closed easily - it is way cool. We're very proud of this one! A whopping 24" high and about 20" wide when extended.
