Hello everyone-
Happy First Day of Fall!
I'm writing with a one major-ish announcement, and a couple of fall show and radio announcements.
First, I want to be the first to let you know that I have parted ways with Matador Records. It happened back in May, and while it wasn't a huge shock, it was of course a disappointmen...t. I was a big fan of the label before they signed me, was honored to be part of their world for a few years, and am very proud of the two records I released on their label. Change can be the best thing for a person and I think its going to be a good thing with this situation.
So, what's next? To be honest, I really have no idea. I'm taking my time writing new songs. Once I feel I am close to a finished record, I'll decide then if I want to put together a team to work with me to put the record out on Kiam (my label) or I may choose to partner up with a new label. It's all up for discussion, but for now I'm going to focus on making new music.
Second bit of news - I'll be playing a couple of solo shows this fall and doing Jon Solomon's WPRB fundraiser for the 3rd year in a row!
Oct 7, 2009 is when I will be on Jon's show. His show airs from 7-10pm on WPRB - you can listen on your FM dial or on the internet. I play covers and you pledge money to the station, that's how it works. If you wanna make a request in advance for a certain song, email Jon or me and we'll make it happen. But don't forget to pledge, that's your part of the equation. WPRB is a great station that has been supporting me for a long time, so help them out if you can!
