Jess Stryker The Chellburg Farm house an Indiana Dunes.

Jess Stryker

Jess Stryker The Chellburg Farm at Indiana Dunes. This turn of the century farm is restored and maintained by the park for it's historic represntation of life on a dairy farm in days gone by.

Jess Stryker Another view of Lake Michigan from the dunes at Indiana Dunes. JUst a couple more days of Indiana Dunes photos, hopefully I'm not boring everyone to death.

Jess Stryker There are a pair of bald eagles that hang out in the vicinity of our condo. I haven't found their next yet, but it is somewhere around here. Used my long lense to grab a photo of one of them in the treetop. They are pretty hard to get close to for photos. Every once in a while I'll spot one flying, but by the time I grab my camera they're gone.

Opps. That should be their "nest" that I haven't found.

Jess Stryker Joseph Bailly's old cabin, no date but probably around 1825-1830. At Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.

Joseph Bailly house in Indiana Dunes. Bailly was a pioneer fur trader in the area arriving in 1822. He started out with a log cabin then added more buildings. This house was started around 1835, he died before it was finished. Many additions were added to it over the years. I love the porches, colors, and odd roof ...lines on this house. Plus the odd cut-stone walled room with diamond pane windows on this side. It seems to have no purpose. The house is restored to its 1917 appearance.Read More

Jess Stryker My granddaughter (7 1/2) caught her front teeth on the wall netting of a bounce house and ripped out 2 baby teeth and one adult tooth. Surgeons reset the adult tooth and wired it in place. Hopefully the root will not die so she won't need a false tooth. She's doing well, and looking forward to showing off her wired mouth at school today!

Jess Stryker West Beach at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. I just thought this opening in the bathroom building created an interesting frame for the grass covered dunes in the background.

Jess Stryker Burning bush. Nothing beats it for fall color! This one is at the Malabar Farm Inn, in central Ohio.

Jess Stryker Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore (sorry, I've been calling it a seashore, it is a Lakeshore, of course!) This is from almost the same location on top of Mt Baldy as the previous photo I posted. But here you can see some of the industrial uses that line the shores of Lake Michigan. This is the Michigan City power plant.
