Guanabara proudly hosts this lively night, Gafieira: Brazilian Ballroom Music and Dance. The term "gafieira" describes a type of music as well as a dance form from the beginning of the 20th century named after the dance halls of the work...ing class neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro. With its dazzling arrangements and instrumentation, the word came to describe the music itself, as well as the various styles of dancing. Playing live is Chico Chagas & Gafieira Brasil, a 7-piece band including percussion, drums, accordion, sax, guitar, flute and clarinet that will make you dance the night away – Oh, and DJ D.Vyzor on the pick-ups make up for a perfect evening!
