Saw "Visual Acoustics" tonight. Wonderful documentary about architectural photographer Julius Shulman. Neat guy, great photos, and interesting documentary. And I learned a word to describe all the new-ish buildings in downtown DC that I've loathed for 25 years: post-modernism. Shulman loathed them too. It was like watc...hing the "No Rain" video and finally realizing there are other bees out there too... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julius_ShulmanDevamı

We met the guys who produced this video, they drove up to Maine, on their own dime, and skipped several days of their college courses (they're undergrads), to help out. You have to watch this video if you haven't. It's absolutely brilliant. The guys told me, this weekend, that they didn't cherry-pick a single intervie...w - they included EVERY single interview they did in the video, this is representative of who the Teabaggers really are. Several points had me laughing out loud.Devamı

PLEASE SHARE THIS VIDEO. On 9.12.2009, we went to Washington DC to document the Tea Party protests against, well, a lot of things, including health insurance reform, the IRS, abortion, global warming, and our "socialist/communist/fascist/Nazi/Muslim" president, Barack Obama. ...

John Aravosis A shot I took of my co-blogger and friend Joe Sudbay on the way in to the Maine "No on 1" campaign headquarters early this morning. I told Joe the photo actually made him look kind of hot. He objected to my use of "actually" :-)

John Aravosis It was 9pm, we were descending into Portland after an absurdly long flight, the cabin lights were off, and the couple across from me were dead sleep, still holding hands, with the reading light hitting them just so. I had no choice but to get our my camera and stalk them...

John Aravosis I dreamed in Italian last night. Foreign language dreams don't happen that often for me. And Lord knows why Italian.

Except that my dream was me speaking to an Italian. I'm not sure I've ever just dreamt in a foreign language, while speaking to Americans - then again, that would be weird as it doesn't happen in real life very often.

Gougères. I made some tonight. They're French. They're absurdly easy. And they work! They're basically a cheese puff. Look fancy as hell. Taste fancy as hell. And my God was the recipe easy. You can find one online, I'm sure, but basically you melt butter, salt and boiling water, add a cup of flour, mix it ove...r a medium heat for a minute, then put it in a mix master, add gruyere cheese (a very good swiss, basically) and 4 eggs, and voila. Just dump it by the tablespoon on a cookie shoot, 425F oven for 20 minutes until it's a good golden brown, then eat them - or let them cool a tad. Really easy. Really good.Devamı

with chamapagne? that's intg. And yes, I was thinking it needed some white wine - I had a prosecco, but feared it would be too sweet, it might be, as champagne is drier generally. And used a stick of butter, which is what my recipe called for, which isn't a small amount

C'est une leçon de vannes qu'un journaliste envoie à toute la population américaine en prenant comme exemple la France! Magistrale!!!
