John Calvin
John Calvin (4/10/1509 - 5/27/1564) was an influential French theologian and pastor during the Protestant Reformation. He was a principal figure in the development of the system of Christian theology later called Calvinism.

The reason the doctrine of election is focused on is because it is a point of controversy in our day. We also shouldn't downplay it or be ashamed of this God glorifying doctrine.
