Jos Great. Coming fresh after the 'climategate' scandel, NZ's own NIWA is under fire for allegedly massaging raw climate data to show a global warming trend that wasn't there. Faking temperature seems to be a regular pasttime of warming believers. http://briefingroom.typepad.com/the_briefing_room/2009/11/breaking-nzs-niwa-...accused-of-cru-style-temperature-faking.html

Victoria Come on Mr Key get your flight booked and represent NZ. I just had a train trip through the UK this weekend was totally applled by the number of smoke stacks and Nuclear reactors in plain site. NZ is so lucky!! we have to fight to keep what we have!!! We need to have our say not stick our heads in the sand.

France Komoroske

France Komoroske This should be interesting. President Obama said today he may make a "last minute" decision to attend the Copenhagen conference. John Key has been in lock-step with everything Obama has been doing, such as refusing to meet the Dalai Lama because Obama did. If Obama goes to Copenhagen, will Key go too?

Jos John, I've always voted National, first, because my parents did. The election six years ago was the first one in which I strongly held an opinion because I could see what Helen was doing to the country. I am glad you won and Helen is gone, but as of today and the passing of the ETS into law, I now no longer know whom I... would vote for in an election; you've just proved to me that in your own way you're just as bad as Labour was.

Richard Sutherland Stop ETS now. Copenhagen is not essential for New Zealand to enable you to disregard common sense and democratic society. I know you wont stop now because you think this will create a negative image but just realise this wont work and that you will be a joke in the years to come when my kids have to pay for your mistak...e. I suspect most people who comment on this are national people so PLEASE LISTEN

From what i can tell thus far democracy only goes as far as the election every 4 years as far as Mr Key is concerned and then is just him and his coices untill the next ellection.. but you forget dear Mr. Key your actions now are going to effect the outcome of the next election so just ask yourself is getting your way for 4 years and ignoring the citizens just to be kicked out of office first chance we get really what you want?

Ben Dominikovich

Ben Dominikovich I think you've been a little slack with your handling of Hone Harawira Mr Key. It was a huge disappointment to see you let it slide as a result of needing the Maori Party under a flawed MMP system.

Malcolm Souness Anyone interested in the recent news on climate science should look at www.climateaudit.com - the guys there have been reverse engineering the climate models behind the IPCC climate statistics - this makes a strong case for opening up the climate science to allow the public to examine the data for themselves.

Gillian Checkley New Zealand Please Mr Key have the strength of character to STOP this ETS Legislation before it goes any further. There are far more important issues that need urgent attention. I, like many New Zealanders cannot understand why the rush, what is the urgency? Is this really the best course of action for the citizens of New Zeala...nd - is this the very best way to tackle New Zealand's environmental issues. What is my three year old grandson going to gain from this legislation - or are you putting a huge financial weight upon his shoulders. PLEASE STOP NOW....give it a lot more thought - a lot more consideration.

William Ridley John, I worry that you are losing touch with your grassroots voter. To support the ETS as you have is to promote a theory which is now shown to be based on a lie. It is time somebody of influence shouted "The Emperor has no clothes" and send this ridiculous house of cards to its inevitable collapse.
You are surrounding y...ourself with the wrong people on this policy. The alarmists stacked the deck.
NZ will always be able to defend itself with its clean, green image and embracing separatism and racism should not bethe means to the end in any situation let alone this one.

Jos John, you're making the same mistake Helen did by trying to placate the smaller supporting parties rather than doing what is right for the country..
