John Kline The White House has set an arbitrary deadline next week for a vote on government-run health care. With the March 18 date rapidly approaching, President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Reid, and Speaker Pelosi are feverishly working behind closed doors to force this unwanted and unworkable bill upon the American people. P...lease visit the NRCC's Facebook page (link below) to take part in the Code Red discussion, and if you are on Twitter use the hashtag #gopcodered to join the debate.

John Kline The Star Tribune reported on our Code Red efforts, which could be the last line of defense in stopping Washington's attempted government takeover of health care.

John Kline I want to share with you the latest effort to stop Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama’s government takeover of health care: "Project Code Red." With Democrats using legislative tricks to quickly ram their bill through the Senate, the last line of defense will be the U.S. House of Representatives. That’s why I’m mobilizing t...he Kline for Congress campaign to help "Project Code Red" hold Democrats accountable for ignoring the American people and pushing a government takeover of health care.

Ben, you're not even close. This bill has so many faults that there is not room to list them.
This legislation does NOTHING to increase competition (and thereby decrease costs) in the insurance industry. This, in fact, would be a measure that would generate broad support among conservatives who oppose the current legislation. Instead, by ... See Moreincreasing government mandates and regulation, this legislation will serve to destroy the private insurance industry.
This is just the tip of the iceberg with regard to the dangers presented by the legislation that the President is attempting to force on the American public.

Hahaha, I really can't get over the President attacking the insurance companies. While they are not cherubs, they do manage to balance their budgets and are accountable for their finances. Furthermore, if the military and VA health care systems are indicative of govt. "effectiveness" in health care, my advice is to not get sick. Chmn Bernanke warned these schmucks we're about to hit the 90% debt to GDP ratio, and that there could be "no going back" from there.

John Kline Last evening, Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) confirmed that 12 members of the House of Representatives would switch from “yes” to “no” on President Obama’s and Speaker Pelosi’s health care proposal if it adopted the Senate-passed language that permits federal funding for abortions.

It would be nice to see some judicial review of this legislation to determine if it is truly constitutional or not.

John Kline Of all the unanswered questions surrounding the Democrats' government takeover of health care, Politico reports that abortion remains the largest, as Democrat leaders "scramble to corral final votes." The Wall Street Journal reports that Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak, who authored an anti-abortion provision in the House bi...ll last November, says he will vote against the bill.

John Kline I received more good news yesterday regarding the Minnesota National Guard's "Red Bulls": Some Minnesota soldiers have finally received their overdue bonus pay (PDMRA). Two weeks ago, after I pressed the Secretary of Defense on this issue during an Armed Services Committee hearing, I was assured the majority of soldier...s would receive their long overdue pay by March 19.

John Kline At the White House health care summit yesterday, House Republican Leader John Boehner noted that, for the first time in 30 years, both the Senate health care bill and the President’s “new” proposal will allow taxpayer funding of abortion. Please visit the NBC news clip below.

John Kline I returned to the Capitol from the White House health care summit about 90 minutes ago. After seven hours at the Blair House, I am still wondering if the Democrats will heed the call of Americans and scrap their trillion-dollar government takeover of health care and finally agree to advance commonsense, bipartisan health care solutions?

In response to Deb.... then let's end medicare and medicaid. no help for you. no help for me. if you can't afford the pricetag, don't get the surgery. you should look for a charitable organization before you look to government to fund your healthcare. If you don't agree with my positions, I'm afraid that YOU are a Socialist.

Hey newsflash: the government doesn't "give" you crap, we the schmucks who keep letting them take our money have it trickled back to us. Trickled back that is after layers of bloated federal/state bureaucratic salaries. You leftist schmucks have trashed education and the economy, now it's on to the health care system. We have almost reached the 90% debt-to-GDP threshold, and even that doesn't curb your appetite for inefficient, bloated, and monstrous government.

John Kline About to conclude our first break during the White House summit on health care. This morning, I shared with the President a solution for lowering the cost of care for small businesses and their workers. My Republican colleagues and I are glad for this opportunity to offer the straightforward solutions the American people want and need.

John Kline On Thursday, I am joining a select group of Republican leaders to attend the White House health care summit. While I was hoping this would be a genuine attempt to hit the reset button and start from scratch with health care reform we can all support, it appears the President and Congressional Democrats are moving ahead... with policies similar to those the American people have already rejected. What are some principles or pillars of health care you think should be included in any reform?

Health Care is NOT a right and Government has absolutely no business whatsoever to be involved with it. Let the free competitive market regulate it.

Despite, lies and propoganda to the contrary, there is NO authorization in Our Constitution for "health care".
Our dimwit and morally challenged politicians must be held accountable to enforcing this else commit perjury to the oath they swaore to "upheld, and defend the Constitution"!

If you have a problem with an insurance firm take them to court or seek out a competitor firm with better and cheaper terms. Have our congressman fight for setting the healthcare business free by removing governmental restrictions for individuals to purchase policies in other states or regions.
