That Dome was built for the Vikings -- they should stay in it -- I was at a playoff game at Met Stadium in Jan 1974, and I'll take the dome every day and twice on Sunday -- Wrigley's been around since 1916 and they aren't replacing that yet --

Yeah, it's not even 30 years old.. and was built mainly for the Vikes. We let the Stars go.. Then built the Target Center now we've got the Wild. We could start planning and saving instead of putting it on the next generation. Impulse buying should be for emegencies. Lol

John, obviously you realize how frustrating this is for Minnesotans. I appreciate your awareness that all members of government will need to work together in order to solve this problem.

However, it frightens me that I've heard so few proposals that haven't been shot down by one side of the other. What IS on the table? There must be some ... Read Moreprograms that we are funding now that can be pared down or postponed, but we seem to be bogged down in the same debate as the last time.

How, specifically, can we break this cycle?

I support what you all had to do. Gov. Pawlenty now has to deal with this budget crisis on his own. His my-or-the-highway style of "leading" is destructive. You all did the best you could with a bad situation and a very obstructionist Governor!

Is the bill to restrict this industry scheduled for debate or a vote? Last I read, it is in a committee. I've asked my state senator to sign on as a cosponsor. This piece of legislation is badly needed.

Governor Pawlenty frequently compares the state budget process to a family sitting around the kitchen table, working on their household budget. Pawlenty says that in difficult financial times like these, families make tough budget cuts and Minnesota needs to do the same...

Good article Sen. Marty, I would add that a family would look at all options too. Just like California is doing with Assembly Bill 390, they are looking at all realistic and economically viable options. Minnesota should be urged to follow suit, would a struggling family blindly ignore a crop as large in economic impact as wheat, corn or cotton? I... Read More do not think they would. Assembly Bill 390 should be applied to MN so our kids can continue to enjoy great health care, infrastructure and education. Meanwhile our health care, infrastructure and education continue to fail. At least California isn't afraid to fight ignorance from the 1930s!!!! Look up Assembly Bill 390 for more information.
