John just to let you know, you are my favorite base ball player and my reason for loving the game of baseball. Back in 1990, I attended my first professional baseball game. It was at Fulton County stadium Braves against the Houston Astros and you were pitching. As I watched you prepare to pitch, I thought of the speed that pitchers on my high ... ... See MoreSee Moreschool team baseball team had and expected to see the same from you. Keep in mind, I didn't know much about baseball back then. Needless to say, I never actually saw you the pitch. I saw you wind up for the pitch but, I never saw the ball leave your hand. I thought that perhaps there was something wrong with my eyes so, I watched carefully as you pitched the next ball. Once again, I saw nothing. The only proof that I had that an actual pitch had been made was when I heard to ball hit the catchers glove. Totally stunned, I asked my friends around me who were avid baseball fans if they saw the pitch? They all looked at me stunned as if I were speaking a different language. Fortunately, a patient friend of mine said "This is John Smoltz. He just pitched a 95 mph fast ball of course you didn't see the ball." As I continued to watch you, I got use to not seeing the ball as it went from your hand to the catchers glove and begin to appreciate your great talent. I begin to collect your basball cards and have continued to collect only your cards over the years. However I only have your cards from when you were with Atlanta and wearing number 29. Twenty years later, I am proud to say that I am still a fan of John Smoltz. Thanks for the memories

Was cool watching Smoltz in St. Louis this year. Got my Smoltz #30 bright red shirt, and it is fun to wear around Atlanta! Look forward to seeing you pitch next year, John!

Look, idk if last night was a fluke or what, but the phillies need to take that win and run with it, you def. can't depend on sabathia to pitch on a weeks rest, and the rest of the yankees need to be put in check, thde phillies need to make sure they don't take anything for granted, baseball can be your best friend then your worst enemy, sometimes it flip flops in the same game, however they can, they need to beat new york, go phillies!!
