Tour the Museum’s “haunted galleries” in this popular program to meet some famous and not-so-famous people that once called Joliet prisons their home. Meet Charles Shader, the last person hanged in Will County; the Touhy gang—rivals of the infamous Al Capone; and Helen Gillis, the wife of George “Baby Face” Nelson. The...n, take the Haunted School Bus to the Joliet Prison to view the new Old Joliet Prison Park. Here, you’ll spend ten to twenty—minutes, not years—discovering the prison’s past, inmate history, and discover what famous films/television shows have been filmed there. Stay alert for spooky surprises! Back at the Museum, visit our Caterpillar Auditorium, where Joliet’s Haunted Trails will be spinning their prize wheel—you can also complete free crafts and activities. Those attending this program are invited to wear costumes and enjoy refreshments at the end of the ghost trail. Scary fun for ages 8 to adult. The cost of this program is $8 per person; bring a canned good or non-perishable food item for donation to our local food pantry and receive a $1.00 discount on your admission.
