My name is Jont....I have just finished making an album I have waited all my life to make....long journey....from writing poems, travelling across america an excited teenager and interviewing poets, having dinner with Ginsberg in his nyc apartment, seeing The Grateful Dead live on New Years Eve in a tie dye bandana....to Manchester....having poems written large on walls with no name or explanation...tiring of having no-one understand the tiny blocks of words on the page and feeling more of a challenge in playing a song to 20 people in a room, getting something actually across, there and then....to getting my first band together at 23, not knowing what all that was about, beginning to learn...moving to London....man in a van....gigs, setting up a night in a venue....claiming it explored the "invisible conversation between audience and performer"....different bands, recording for the first time, writing more, "big" things almost happening for my music, then not, then almost, then not, moving to America....meeting a maverick genius who inspired and enthused and helped manifest a life for me in Los Angeles...meeting the people that have shaped my life, who I am....dear friends who I am so grateful for...returning to the UK....the last six months, incredibly exhilarating blend of epiphany and confusion but with brighter and clearer sounds being heard from somewhere I had always wanted to access but had never fully felt connected to...and now: streaming feathers and light, that night I started organising (UNLIT) now a fully fit animal, a life-force in itself, bringing people together, me all too happy to provide whatever form or impetus or food it needs to continue...feeding myself from the joy of it and in turn learning more, listening more....just the beginning now, ready to roll, base camp.
