Our summer concert, entitled 'From Baroque to Broadway' was held on June 27th 2009 at a hot and steamy Winston Churchill Hall, Ruislip. We were lucky enough to be joined by the Wessex Male Choir who were on top form with their programme, which included a medley from Oliver, 'Me and my Shadow', 'All b...y Myself' and 'Joshua', a popular spiritual piece. Our Musical Director Sarah also blew us away with a rendition of Handel's 'Let the Bright Seraphim'. The hall was at full capacity and everyone agreed the atmosphere was electric. The Baroque element was comprised of pieces by Handel, Caccini and Purcell, and a medley from Les Miserables, Mister Sandman and Chatanooga Choo Choo all contributed to the Broadway sound. A highlight for us was a hearty rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus, where we were joined on stage by the Wessex Male Choir.
