In one of monster lore's most preposterous cases, the Thetis Lake Monster leapt from local papers to the cryptozoological literature — where it survives today. He writes, in part,

"If you’ve got the itch, the need, the desire, the passion to get up and do something about all the nonsense facing the world, what can you do? What’s the next step? I’m glad you asked.… 'What Do I Do Next?' [is] chock full of advice to get you off your sofa and into the action."

Kylie

Kylie The 'Evolution' news has to be the most wonderfully generous, considerate and educational move I've heard of from skeptics yet. To be getting that out to kids? Bloody fantastic. That'll be my sole blogpost for Darwin Day, pointing out what's been done. Damned fine work, well done Junior Skeptic!

Trevor Jenkins The new issue of junior is great. Thanks to Daniel and company for acknowledging Johnny Carson's many contributions to critical thinking when, sadly, we need it more than ever. I doubt very much that we'll ever see that populist meatball Jay Leno bust a 'psychic' down to size!

Trevor Jenkins A great magazine within a great magazine. What else could you ask for?! Going to get my girlfriend, who is a school teacher, to start bringing it to her classroom. She works at a public school here in usually progressive Toronto that currently has a nativity display!! Once again, within the public school board, not the Catholic school board of Toronto.

Does anyone else enjoy the delicious irony that Daniel Loxton was a shepherd?! Keep up the much needed work, Daniel!

Derek Colanduno And now we HAVE to make Dan come to Dragon*Con next year and talk all about Jr. Skeptic! I had at LEAST 20 or more parents come and ask me if Dan was there. No crap, I am serious. We had at least 2 kids under the age of 12 in each of our Skeptic related panels. It was kind of cool to see how many parents that were there, and I go to see them, and hear them, teaching their kids all about the stuff we were talking about! SOOOOOoooo damn cool... :)
