The Age of the Feminine - "Foreign English Teachers in Taiwan"- 2010 Calendar, is part of a fund... raising project "CROSSING BORDERLINES," for war displaced Iraqi and Palestinian Refugees.

The Age of the Feminine – 2010 - calendar features amateur models, all foreign English Teachers living in Taiwan. The calendar provides a way for Foreign English teachers in Taiwan to fundraise for a learning center for Iraqi and Palestinian refugees living in exile in Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. Thus; teachers in one country providing students living in conflict areas with books, pencils, and ultimately teachers.

The artistic theme of “The Age of the Feminine – 2010” calendar is to portray each month as a decade. For instance, Miss January – Karoliese is portrayed as a woman from the 1900s, until we get to Miss December _ Kristen Adams and her daughter Trinity representing the year 2010.

The project, "CROSSING BORDERLINES," is initiated by KLOIE PICOT - a Freelance Photojournalist and Teacher currently based in Taiwan. To date the funds raised by sales of Ms. Picots photos have provided housing and basic needs for Iraqi refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. Kloie has used her own personal savings in research and development to assess the long-term needs of the war displaced. She traveled the region for months meeting and working for the UNHRC, UNRWA as well as Medicine Sans Frontiere. Previously, Ms. Picot lived and worked in the Middle East for 6 years.

The funds raised by THE AGE OF THE FEMININE 2010 Calendar will go towards establishing a Community Learning Center based firstly in Syria. The ultimate goal and approach of CROSSING BORDERLINES is to provide practical and educational skills as well as training, in order for refugees to be self-sufficient.
